Fourteen employees from Barratt Homes have raised £21820 for Manchester Foundation Trust Charity after completing the National Three Peaks Challenge in less than 24 hours.
The team climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon over one weekend, with the total boosted through matched funding from the Barratt Redrow Foundation.
The challenge began when the group left Barratt Homes Manchester’s office in Didsbury on Friday 5 June before setting out to climb the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales.
The team completed the challenge in 23 hours and 15 minutes, covering 23 miles and ascending 10052 feet, including the time spent travelling between each mountain.
The employees raised £10910 through sponsorship, which was matched pound for pound through the Barratt Redrow Foundation’s matched funding scheme, bringing the total donation to £21820.

“It’s an incredible achievement, and they did an amazing job. Every pound they have raised will help us to continue to support patients, families and staff across Manchester and Trafford.”
Rebecca Dean, Assistant Buyer at Barratt Homes Manchester and one of the participants, said, “It was both mentally and physically challenging at times, but it was an incredibly rewarding experience. I enjoyed every mountain for its own unique character, and each one offered something different that made the journey memorable.”
Rebecca was joined by Mike Cleary, John Caslin, Kevin Furey, Tom Hudson, Ollie Towle, Stewart Scotson, Simon Hughes, Elaine Caulfield, Sophie Worthington, Ben Horridge, Carl Bent, Luke Ingleson and Adam Mosley.
Manchester Foundation Trust Charity supports a range of hospitals across the region, including Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
