Three more Fixed Penalty Notices have been issued by Bury Council as part of its ongoing crackdown on fly tipping and littering.
Two people were fined £800 for fly tipping offences, while another received a £75 penalty for littering.
The two £800 Fixed Penalty Notices were issued for fly tipping offences at Rectory Avenue in Prestwich and Milltown Street in Radcliffe.
A further £75 Fixed Penalty Notice was issued for littering on Stokes Road in Radcliffe.
Since 1 April 2026, Bury Council has issued six Fixed Penalty Notices for fly tipping and five for littering, bringing the total to 11 enforcement notices during the first quarter of the 2026 to 2027 financial year.
The council said its Environmental Enforcement Officers work closely with Bury’s Control Room, Housing, Environmental Services and Neighbourhoods teams to share intelligence, identify offenders and support investigations.
The authority also uses CCTV footage, vehicle details and information from partner organisations to identify those responsible for environmental offences. Enforcement action can include Fixed Penalty Notices, cautions and prosecutions.
Council officers said the joined up approach is helping to tackle fly tipping and other environmental crime that damages neighbourhoods and green spaces while sending a clear message that offences will not be tolerated.
Residents are reminded that there are 21 recycling centres across Greater Manchester, including two in Bury, where household waste can be disposed of free of charge.
The council is also urging people using someone else to dispose of their waste to check they are a registered waste carrier by asking for their waste carrier licence and verifying their details through the Environment Agency’s online register.
Anyone who witnesses fly tipping or discovers illegally dumped waste is encouraged to report it to Bury Council.
