The Prestwich Community Picnic is taking place today, bringing residents together for an afternoon in the park.
Councillor Richard Gold said the event reflects what Prestwich is all about.
Speaking to Tim from Roch Valley Radio at the event, Councillor Richard Gold said the picnic was an important part of the town’s community calendar.
He said, “To me, it’s really important, because this sums up what Prestwich is all about. It’s all about our residents. One big community, lots of people coming together, having fun and using the green spaces in the park.”
He added, “It’s a really important day for Prestwich. We’ve had Clough Day, we’ve had Prestwich Carnival, we’re going to have Prestwich Arts Festival, and this is what Prestwich is all about.”
