A Bolton man has been found guilty of raping two 14 year old girls after a trial at Bolton Crown Court.
Sultani Bakatash was convicted of two counts of rape and three further sexual offences. He will be sentenced at a later date.
Sultani Bakatash, 29, was found guilty of two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration and one count of sexual assault.
The court heard that on 6 December 2025, the two girls met Bakatash in Bolton after messaging on social media before he took them to his flat.
The Crown Prosecution Service said he encouraged the girls to drink alcohol until they were drifting in and out of consciousness before raping and sexually assaulting them.
After the incident, the girls left the address and sought help before police were contacted.
Bakatash had left the flat but was located the following morning at his brother’s house.
During his police interview, he made no comment. In a prepared statement, he claimed the girls had told him they were 19 and nearly 18 years old and that the sexual activity had been consensual.
The jury rejected his account and found him guilty on all five charges following the trial at Bolton Crown Court.
Jo Service, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said, “In this deeply concerning case, Sultani Bakatash subjected two teenage girls to a frightening sexual ordeal.
“He plied the girls with alcohol before raping and sexually assaulting them when they were too intoxicated to resist.
“In pursuit of his own sexual gratification, he gave no thought to the lifelong harm the abuse could have on his victims.
“I would like to thank the victims for supporting the prosecution and I hope they can find comfort in knowing that because of their support, we have been able to bring Bakatash to justice.”
Bakatash will be sentenced at a later date.
