Footasylum has confirmed it has started a consultation process with staff at its distribution centres following proposed changes to fulfilment operations.
The company said a number of roles are at risk, although no final decisions have been made.
Roch Valley Radio contacted Footasylum after being approached by two members of staff who claimed 67 warehouse jobs were set to be cut.
In response, a spokesperson for the retailer confirmed a consultation process is now underway as part of wider operational changes.
A Footasylum spokesperson said: “Footasylum has begun a consultation process with colleagues at its distribution centres, following a decision to invest in changes to its fulfilment operations to support the site’s long term sustainability.
“Regrettably, as a consequence of the proposed operational changes, a number of roles are at risk, although no final decisions have been made.
“Footasylum is committed to supporting affected colleagues throughout the consultation process and, where possible, facilitating redeployment opportunities.”
The company has not confirmed how many roles could be affected or which sites are involved.
The consultation process with employees is ongoing.
