Alex and James have raised £51,298.34 for Springhill Hospice after completing their Running for Dad challenge in memory of Alex’s dad Darren.
Family members, friends, supporters and hospice sponsors gathered at The Oxford pub on Saturday, 9 May, for a celebration event where the final total was announced.
The pair had originally aimed to raise £26,000 for Springhill Hospice.

Their challenge involved running from Rochdale to London before taking part in the London Marathon, covering 240 miles in six days.
The run was held in memory of Darren, who was cared for by Springhill Hospice before his death on 23 January 2020 after living with Motor Neurone Disease.

Alex previously said the care given to his dad and family had made the most traumatic time of their lives easier.
The money raised will support Springhill Hospice’s work providing care for people and families across the borough.
Ahead of the event, James wasn't aware of how much money had been raised, and by the facial expressions, he was truely emotional.
