Students at St Anne’s Church of England Academy in Middleton have collected GCSE results which the school says are on a par with its best-ever results achieved in 2025.
The academy said this year’s results continued an improvement in outcomes over the past three years.
The Class of 2026 collected their results this morning.

Adam Nowak achieved grades 8 and 9 across Maths and the sciences and will study Chemistry, Physics and Maths at Rochdale Sixth Form College.
He said: “I don’t think I would be in this position without St Anne’s. All the teachers are really kind and are always happy to help.
“I’ve achieved 8s and 9s in Maths and the sciences, which are exactly the subjects I want to continue studying. St Anne’s has really helped me to get here.”
Erhun Osazuwa Erukpe said she had performed better than she expected and will study Biology, Chemistry and Psychology at Xaverian College.
She said: “I was in shock when I saw my results. I did so much better than I expected.
“At St Anne’s, the teachers are always really supportive. Even if you’re having a hard time, they are there to help you through it.”
Sunny Chau will also attend Xaverian College, where he plans to take A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths.
He said: “I feel really excited and very grateful for all the help St Anne’s has given me throughout my education.
“It hasn’t just been about lessons either. The school has given me opportunities such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and the opportunity to attend Oxford University Scholars Camp over summer.”

Jasmin Onyemaizu Gabriel, Sunny Chau and Chidinma Nzelibe Ekegbo jointly achieved the highest number of grade 9s in the year group.
Executive Headteacher Chris Heyes said: “We are incredibly happy with this year’s results at St Anne’s. Over the last three years we have seen significant improvement in our outcomes, and for this year’s students to maintain the record standard achieved in 2025 is something we are extremely proud of.
“St Anne’s has been on a real journey over the last five years and days like today remind us how far we have come.
“These results are first and foremost a testament to the hard work, determination and resilience of our students. They have been brilliantly supported throughout their GCSE journey by an incredibly committed team of staff, as well as by their parents and families at home.”

St Anne’s was judged Good by Ofsted in 2024.
Students are now progressing to sixth forms, colleges, apprenticeships and training.
