A children's bath and body brand founded by two sisters from Prestwich has secured its first national supermarket rollout after rebuilding the business following a warehouse fire in Middleton.
Good Bubble will see two products from its licensed Gruffalo range stocked in 268 Sainsbury's stores from Saturday 1 August, marking the widest national distribution in the company's history.
The business was founded by Amy Lister and is run alongside her sister Sally Wordsworth. The pair grew up in a family toiletries manufacturing business before launching the Manchester based children's personal care brand.
The supermarket listing comes after a difficult period for the company. In June 2025, a fire at Storage World in Middleton destroyed more than half of Good Bubble's stock and disrupted operations.
Despite the setback, the company said revenue increased by 60 per cent, although profits fell by 20 per cent. The sisters said they responded by streamlining the business, removing lower margin product lines, improving supply chains and adjusting prices to restore profitability.
Amy Lister, founder and managing director of Good Bubble, said, "The recovery came from operational changes rather than from higher sales volume and our direct to consumer channel performing particularly strongly. We’re proud to have grown 60 per cent in a particularly challenging year as rebuilding stock after the fire wasn’t an overnight job. There is no big parent company behind us. It’s just the two of us and we’ve really been tested to think on our feet and respond quickly to highly stressful situations."
Good Bubble produces children's bath and haircare products in the UK and now supplies retailers including Boots, Sainsbury's, Ocado and Amazon.
The company said it is targeting annual revenue of £7 million within the next five years. It expects future growth to come through wider supermarket distribution, expansion of its own branded range and the launch of products in a new category.
Amy Lister added, "When the big players start turning up in your aisle, it usually means you were right. We have spent eight years proving that children's bath time can be skin kind, planet friendly and fun at the same time. If the biggest personal care companies in the world now agree with us, then great. We’re still just two sisters from Manchester who grew up in a family toiletries factory and do a happy dance when we get a customer order."
The business is also raising investment to support its expansion plans and is taking part in the PraeSeed investment readiness programme run by PXN Ventures.
