Heritage photo walk to explore Rochdale town centre landmarks

People are being invited to discover Rochdale's historic town centre through photography during a guided heritage photo walk this September.

The free event will take place on Saturday 12 September from 11am until 1pm and will be led by Rochdale documentary photographer Ellie Waters.

Participants will explore the town centre, including landmarks such as Rochdale Town Hall, while capturing photographs and sharing stories about the area's heritage.

The walk will begin outside the entrance to Rochdale Town Hall before following a route curated by Ellie Waters through the town centre.

Organisers say there will be opportunities to stop and rest along the route, with minor changes possible depending on the weather.

Ellie Waters, who is from Rochdale, specialises in documentary photography and has a passion for visual storytelling.

The event forms part of the Broadfield Park Slopes Project, which is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
