Bury cookie shop relaunches as independent business after 15 years

A long established cookie shop at The Rock in Bury has reopened under a new independent brand while remaining under the same ownership and with the existing team.

The business, now trading as The Cookie Giants, officially launched on Friday 31 July.

The shop, formerly known as Millie's Cookies Bury, will continue operating from its existing premises at The Rock Shopping Centre following the end of its franchise agreement.

Owners say the move will allow the business to expand its own product range while continuing to offer many of the items customers already know, including freshly baked cookies, personalised giant cookies and cookie boxes.

The Cookie Giants has also introduced new products including stuffed cookies and cookie pies.

Customers will be able to order personalised giant cookies and selected cookie boxes online for collection through the company's new website.

The business said alcohol free flavourings are now used throughout its cookie range.

Store manager Mark Whibley said, "We've been part of Bury town centre for 15 years, so it was really important to us that the shop could continue with the same team and the products our customers already know and love. Becoming The Cookie Giants also gives us the opportunity to introduce more of our own ideas, from new cookie flavours to stuffed cookies and cookie pies.

"We've put a lot of work into getting everything ready and we're looking forward to welcoming customers into the newly branded shop."

Laura Beal, centre manager of The Rock Shopping Centre, said, "It's great to see this well loved business begin its next chapter as The Cookie Giants. We wish the team the very best of luck as they launch their new independent brand and continue building on 15 years of success."

The Cookie Giants is based at The Rock Shopping Centre on Central Street in Bury and is open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and from 11am to 5pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
