McDonald's in Middleton has reopened following a refurbishment designed to improve the experience for customers and restaurant staff. The changes include a redesigned layout, updated technology and new facilities for delivery couriers.
The restaurant is owned and operated by local franchisee Gerald Thompson and has reopened after completing McDonald's latest reimagining programme, which is intended to improve speed, efficiency and choice for customers.
The refurbishment includes a redesigned kitchen and dining area that better supports digital ordering through the McDonald's app while making more effective use of the available space. Customers can order in advance using the app and either collect their food or have it brought to their table when they arrive.
Separate facilities have also been introduced for customers dining in and for delivery couriers. The company says this will reduce congestion inside the restaurant and create a smoother ordering experience.
The front counter has been redesigned with dedicated areas for different ordering methods. McDonald's says this provides more space for customers while helping to shorten queues around self service ordering screens.
Improvements have also been made behind the scenes, including a larger order assembly area and dedicated preparation spaces for dine in meals. The restaurant's crew room has also been refurbished to provide staff with a more comfortable place to take breaks.
Gerald Thompson, who owns and operates 18 McDonald's restaurants across Greater Manchester, said, "I'm proud to reinvest in our Middleton restaurant. This was my first restaurant as a franchisee back in 2000, and it's been great to see it evolve over the years. The latest redesign has given it a fresh new look, and we now have separate facilities for our dine in customers and our couriers leading to a better experience for everyone. I'm confident the changes will not only benefit our customers but also our eighty plus restaurant team as these changes will help make their jobs a little easier."
