Day One at Parklife 2025 is done, and what a day it was. Over 50,000 people packed into Heaton Park for a massive Saturday, with sets from FLO, Rudimental and a huge headline performance by 50 Cent.

More than half a hundred thousand people ascend upon Heaton Park for this year’s installment of a two-day music festival, Parklife, as this year begins. This year's headline acts include Charli XCX & 50 Cent, combined with Jorja Smith, Peggy Gou, PAWSA, Bicep, Rudimental, and plenty more.

The locals aren't happy with Charli XCX as they have gone to X to complain.

Just wait ‘til Oasis roll in next month for five whole nights. If Charli’s two hours of pop is doing your head in, Liam’s going to finish the job. #JusticeForAngela

Journalist, Jacob Walters says there’s seems to have been a major planning fail by Parklife organisers, with fans left disappointed after Josh Baker and Chris Stussy were cancelled due to safety concerns. Both were set to play back-to-back on a small stage.

From Parklife:

"Upon Advice of the PL Safety Team, the Matinee stage will not be re-opening. We apologise to people who wanted to see Josh Baker and Chris Stussy"

Chris Stussy, the artist who was set to end the night on the Matinee stage, has released a statement to his social media channels to his followers, explaining that the stage had been closed due to overcrowding:

"Really gutted I'm unable to perform at Parklife tonight, flew straight from Barcelona to play a 3 hours closing set but due to safety reasons and the stage being overcrowded, the organisation decided to shut the stage down as it may have caused unsafe situations for those who were there."

"Despite being disappointed, safety comes first and we will make this right very soon... X Chris"

Josh Baker, the artist who had his set cut short on the Matinee stage, has since released a statement on social media, to his followers - and ended with a handful of crying emoji':

"Unfortunately I will not be performing at Parklife due to reasons outside of my control. I deeply apologise. I can't really put into words what today was going to mean to me."

The stage remains closed to fans, however large queues of fans remain as we await further updates on the stages' closing DJ, Chris Stussy.

Confidence Man are a pop band from Australia known for their fun, upbeat music and lively stage shows which they certainly did this afternoon. The group includes singers Janet Planet and Sugar Bones, who are full of energy and love to put on a show.

They mix catchy pop tunes with dance beats, and their songs are made to get people moving. They’ve built a strong fan base in the UK and beyond, especially at festivals where their performances are a big hit.
