Tens of thousands of music fans are pouring into Parklife, as the day one of the festival gets underway.

More than half a hundred thousand people ascend upon Heaton Park for this year’s installment of a two-day music festival, Parklife, as this year begins. This year's headline acts include Charli XCX & 50 Cent, combined with Jorja Smith, Peggy Gou, PAWSA, Bicep, Rudimental, and plenty more.

We're seeing major delays around Heaton Park as festivalgoers head home. Several roads are shut to keep things moving and make sure everyone's safe.

Roads closed tonight from 20:00 up until approximately 01:00 or 02:00 am:

  • Middleton Road (both ways) from Victoria Ave to Crumpsall Lane
  • Sheepfoot Lane (both ways) from Bury Old Road to Middleton Road, might also close during the day
  • Blackley New Road from Middleton Road to Riverdale Road
  • Meade Hill Road between Sheepfoot Lane and Middleton Road
  • Bury Old Road between Whittaker Lane and Scholes Lane
  • Whittaker Lane – one way only (westbound) from Bury Old Road to Heywood Road
  • Middleton Road at Jct 19 – fully closed from Heywood Old Road, even for permit holders
  • M60 Jct 19 – all slip roads closed except anticlockwise onto the M60
  • Middleton Road fully closed from Jct 19 to Victoria Ave
  • Victoria Avenue – one way westbound only from Tweedle Hill Road to Middleton Road

As everyone has gone to either party in The Hangar or watch 50 Cent, there are a few stragglers now left wondering what day it is.

That concludes our live coverage for Day One of Parklife 2025. We'll be back from 1pm tomorrow, bringing you Day Two which will see Charlie XCX as the main headline act of the day.

We've been lucky as the sun has now come out and it's lovely weather, we're hoping that the rain will now stay away for the remainder of the day, we can hope!

It's not just the music festivalgoers come to Parklife for, it's the experience, from the countless street food vendors that have pitched up across the site, to those having fun on the fairground rides, it's an experience a lot of people wait the entire year for.

The rain has stopped now, and people have ditched the bin bags and ponchos to take in the sun.

Bee Network announces closures at Heaton Park tram stop for anyone looking to leave the festival. We recommend you check before you travel home this evening as there may be further disruption.

Antony Szmierek just lit up The Valley stage with a proper homecoming vibe. The Hyde-born poet and hip hop artist dove into the crowd just a couple of tracks in, and they loved him for it! Security and the sound guys, not so much.

Stay tuned as Flo are up next on the main stage.

Festival goers are queuing at Bars as the festival spirit sinks in, we are getting ready to welcome our first Headliner in just over an hour in the likes of FLO, with all stages loud with their first few acts.

We are on-site! All stages have music as loud as we can think, and the festival is in full swing! We are expecting weather to be on-and-off rain with the risk of the odd thunderstorm; with sunny spells seeing 21°c.

We'll keep you up to date through the rest of the day as performances take to stage, and behind the scenes action!
