A long-standing Rochdale engineering business has been bought by United Infrastructure in a move set to expand both firms’ reach in the energy and utilities sectors.
Simkiss Group, known for designing and building control systems, panels and switchgear, has been acquired after more than 25 years of independent operation. The company provides engineering solutions to clients across energy, utilities and infrastructure, and is especially active in the utilities sector, offering installation, testing and maintenance services.
The deal sees Simkiss become part of United Infrastructure, a growing player in the power and energy industry. The acquisition is expected to strengthen United’s ability to deliver integrated, technically advanced solutions in sectors handling critical infrastructure.

Simkiss will continue operating under its own name for now but is expected to play a key role in United’s wider expansion plans across the UK’s utilities and infrastructure landscape.
