A long-standing Rochdale engineering business has been bought by United Infrastructure in a move set to expand both firms’ reach in the energy and utilities sectors.
Simkiss Group, known for designing and building control systems, panels and switchgear, has been acquired after more than 25 years of independent operation. The company provides engineering solutions to clients across energy, utilities and infrastructure, and is especially active in the utilities sector, offering installation, testing and maintenance services.
The deal sees Simkiss become part of United Infrastructure, a growing player in the power and energy industry. The acquisition is expected to strengthen United’s ability to deliver integrated, technically advanced solutions in sectors handling critical infrastructure.
Neil Armstrong, Chairman and CEO of United Infrastructure, said the acquisition was a strategic fit.
Simkiss Group brings proven design and engineering expertise that enhances our technical capability across energy and power activities,
By investing in these skills, we are strengthening our ability to deliver more technical and integrated solutions.
Simkiss Group Chairman Paul Simkiss welcomed the deal, calling it an opportunity to grow and invest further in staff and services.
We have built our reputation on quality, technical excellence and long-standing customer relationships, United Infrastructure shares those values.
Simkiss will continue operating under its own name for now but is expected to play a key role in United’s wider expansion plans across the UK’s utilities and infrastructure landscape.
