People travelling on Manchester’s Metrolink are facing major delays this morning after all trams have been stopped on the Bury line.
Emergency services were called to Crumpsall station in North Manchester this morning following a police incident. Greater Manchester Police have since confirmed they are responding to concerns for the welfare of a man.
Trams between Manchester and Bury are not running while police deal with the situation. No further details have been shared at this time.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) said replacement travel is available and tram tickets are being accepted on a number of local buses. Passengers can use services including the 17, 18, 41, 52, 53, 59, 81, 90, 94, 95, 97, 98, 112, 117, 118, 119, 135, 156, 163 and 524.
Anyone affected should show their Metrolink pass or ticket when boarding the bus.
Traffic update service Inrix has also confirmed there is no tram service on the Bury line while the incident is ongoing.
Police remain at the scene, and further information will be shared when available. Passengers are advised to check for updates before travelling.
