Two women have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury to a child after an incident in Rochdale.
The child remains in a critical condition in hospital.
The women, aged 19 and 20, were arrested at a property in Blackburn on Sunday 23 August.
Police had responded to a report concerning the welfare of a child at Spotland Tops in Rochdale at around 4.16pm on Saturday 22 August.
Emergency services attended and the child was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police said he remains in a critical condition.
The two women were arrested on suspicion of causing a serious injury to a child.
Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
