Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary has appealed for the return of a young rabbit which it believes was taken by a visitor on Saturday.
The sanctuary said it has reviewed CCTV and has a potential lead after Hazlenut disappeared.
Bleakholt said the rabbit was very young and had been outside for the first time when she was reported missing.
The sanctuary said Hazlenut requires regular care and was due to be seen by a vet.
After reviewing CCTV footage, Bleakholt issued an appeal asking whoever took the rabbit to return her on Saturday night.
The sanctuary said: “If you have or know the person who has taken poor Hazlenut please bring her back tonight and no questions will be asked. We just want her back safely.
“She is very young and it was her first time outside. We can’t believe that someone can be so cruel.
“Please, please return this baby to us as she will need constant proper care and was due to see the Vet.”
Anyone with information has been asked to contact Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary on 01706 822577.
