A young person from Rochdale has been elected to the Youth Council UK Executive Board after being nominated by Rochdale Youth Service.
The youth board will work to set priorities, lead campaigns and speak directly with decision makers on issues affecting young people.
Rochdale Youth Service said Daniel would help represent young people locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
Daniel told Roch Valley Radio:
“I am honoured to have been elected as a board member for the Youth Council. I am passionate about ensuring that every young person’s voice is heard, valued, and represented, regardless of their background. I am fully committed to working hard for young people across the UK and overseas territories, striving to create opportunities, promote equality, and make a positive, lasting impact on our future.”
Rochdale Youth Service says its Youth Cabinet gives people aged 11 to 19 a chance to discuss local issues, plan campaigns and influence council decisions.
