Reform UK has secured victory in the Tottington by-election, gaining a seat on Bury Council.
George Martin has been elected as the new councillor for Tottington, becoming the third representative for Reform UK on Bury Council, winning the seat with a 302 majority.

The Conservative Party candidate Emma Lee finished second with 627 votes. Labour candidate Drew Keanu Bell received 346 votes, while Chloe King of the Green Party secured 257. Greg Keeley of Together for Bury received 193 votes.
The by-election was triggered after the resignation of former councillor Luis McBriar halfway through his four-year term. The seat had previously been held by Together for Bury.
Martin will now serve the remainder of the term, which runs until 2028.
Turnout for the by-election was recorded at 31 per cent, with an electorate of 7,675. This marks a decrease compared to the last time the seat was contested in 2024, when turnout reached 39 per cent.
