The Green Party has selected Tottington resident Chloe King to stand as its candidate in the upcoming Tottington ward by election in Bury.
Chloe King, 35, has been chosen by the Bury and Salford Green Party to contest the seat. She has lived in Tottington for eight years after growing up in Wythenshawe.
King said she values the quieter pace of life in the area and enjoys meeting residents while walking her dog.
Politically, she describes herself as progressive and said the Green Party was a natural choice because it is a member-led party that focuses on people and the environment.
She said she wants to focus on support for residents facing financial pressures and the protection of local green spaces.
King said, “I'm delighted to have been selected as the candidate in Tottington, a place that I call home. The cost of living is impacting everyone right now, so if elected, I want to make sure that people are getting the correct support and feel confident in asking for that support.”
She also said empathy towards others has always shaped her beliefs and added that she is prepared to work hard to represent the community.
Health issues have meant King has not been able to work for a period of time, but she said she is ready to champion Tottington and its residents.
