More than 100 people entered a Mother’s Day competition at The Rock Shopping and Leisure Centre, with ten winners seeing their messages displayed on floral themed boards in the centre.
Each winner received a £20 gift card for a store of their choice.
The competition was held in the run up to Mother’s Day and invited people to submit heartfelt messages for mums.
The ten winning entries were by Reeva Bell, aged six, Zoe Cadman, aged 36, Shay Clayton, aged eight, Maiya Clayton, aged nine, Roisin Coady, aged 28, Elsie Harrison, aged six, Mianne Hui, aged eight, Nicola Mlodecka, aged 18, Leo Senior, aged 10, and Rachael Thompson.
To continue the Mother’s Day theme, visitors to The Rock on Saturday 14 March were given bunches of daffodils by the centre events team. A total of 350 bunches were handed out.
Laura Beal, centre manager at The Rock, said,
Messages to Mum is such a special campaign for us because it allows our community to express what really matters, love, gratitude and appreciation.
We’ve been blown away by the creativity and emotion in the entries and we’re delighted to showcase them in the centre.
We hope visitors enjoyed seeing the heartfelt messages as much as we enjoyed receiving them.
