Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary has been named The Rock Shopping Centre’s charity partner for the second consecutive year after receiving the most support in a public vote.
The partnership will continue until June 2027 with fundraising and awareness events planned throughout the year.
The Rock Shopping Centre has confirmed that Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary will remain its Charity of Choice after members of the public voted to support the charity for a second year.
The renewed partnership follows a successful first year in which The Rock, its retailers, staff and visitors raised more than £4,500 for the sanctuary through fundraising activities and awareness campaigns.
Laura Beal, Centre Manager at The Rock, said, “We’re thrilled that Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary has been chosen by the public as our Charity of Choice for a second consecutive year. The response from our visitors has been fantastic and reflects just how much the community values the incredible work carried out by the sanctuary and its team.
“During our first year of partnership, we were proud to help raise more than £4,500 for Bleakholt. We look forward to building on that success over the coming year, raising even more vital funds and awareness to support the animals in Bleakholt’s care and projects such as Project Purrfect. We’d like to thank everyone who took the time to vote and support this wonderful local charity.”
Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary has provided care, shelter and rehoming services for more than 60 years. The charity supports hundreds of animals while also delivering education and community engagement.
Karen Weed, Sanctuary Manager at Bleakholt, said, “We’re so pleased to have been chosen as The Rock’s charity partner for a second year. The support and funds raised through The Rock have been incredible, and we’ve loved being part of all the events. Thank you for your continued support, it truly makes a difference to the lives of the animals in our care.”
The partnership will run until June 2027 and will include a programme of fundraising events, awareness campaigns and activities designed to support the sanctuary and highlight its work within the local community.
