Residents across Rochdale can now register for Springhill Hospice’s annual Christmas tree collection service, running between 9 and 12 January 2026.
Springhill Hospice is once again offering its popular Christmas Tree Collection Service, giving residents a simple way to dispose of their real trees while supporting end-of-life care in the borough.
Volunteers will collect trees from homes in eligible postcode areas between Friday 9 January and Monday 12 January 2026. Collections must be booked by Tuesday 6 January, and trees must be left in an accessible location outside the property from 8am on the first day of the collection window.
The trees are taken to the Hospice and recycled into wood chippings, which are then used for garden beds and pathways across the hospice grounds. The collection service is open to residents in the following postcode areas only: OL10, OL11, OL12, OL14, OL15, OL16 and M24.
A minimum donation of £12 is required per tree, although larger contributions are welcome. All proceeds directly support palliative and end-of-life care services provided by Springhill Hospice.
The hospice has reminded residents that while every effort will be made to collect all trees during the specified period, factors such as weather or traffic delays may impact the schedule. Specific collection dates cannot be guaranteed.
