Police were called at around 2.40pm this afternoon after suspected grenades were discovered at an unoccupied property on Manchester Road in Rochdale.
Officers attended the address after reports that the devices were found during the clearing of the property.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal officers attended alongside police and partner agencies. The suspected grenades were recovered and taken to a nearby site where they will be safely and remotely detonated.
Residents in the surrounding area may hear a loud noise while the controlled detonation takes place.
Police have confirmed there are no wider concerns for the public.
