The overwhelming majority of students have secured offers from their first-choice university or other destination
Cardinal Langley students have received their A-Level and BTEC results, and teachers have praised students, saying that Cardinal Langley students have embraced opportunities beyond the classroom and have made a lasting and hugely positive contribution to school life. They were also commemorated on their academic accomplishments, with that being a testament of everything that they have contributed to the life of the school and the wider local community over their two year course.
This year, students' average UCAS point score has risen again, with 84% of A-Level students achieving grades A*-C grades, and 100% of BTEC grades were awarded at Distinction*, Distinction, or Merit level. This is above the average of 78.4% of grades that were A*-C this year.
Mr Bridson, Headteacher at Cardinal Langley, said: “On behalf of everyone at Cardinal Langley, I would like to offer our heartfelt congratulations to our remarkable Sixth Form students. We are absolutely delighted with this year’s A-level and BTEC results and immensely proud of what our young people have achieved. They have demonstrated outstanding resilience, dedication and ambition. It is particularly pleasing to see so many of them securing places at their first-choice destinations.
“These results represent much more than examination grades. They reflect two years of hard work, determination and personal growth, as well as the encouragement and support provided by our teachers, support staff, parents and carers. Our students have given so much to our school community and we are incredibly proud of the young adults they have become.
“It is a privilege to see them now preparing to take their next steps with such confidence, enthusiasm and optimism. We know they have the ability and character to achieve great things and we wish all of them every success and happiness in the future. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to our dedicated parents and carers for their continued partnership and to our outstanding staff who work so wholeheartedly to nurture, challenge and support our students every day.”
Some of the students who have received particularly good grades include: Archie, who received grades A*AB, and is going on to study History; Hannah and Lucca, who both achieved an A* in one of their A-Level subjects; and Malachy, Ethan, Alicia, Martina, and Alfie, who all received a Distinction* in one of their BTEC subjects.
Chloe achieved two A*s and a Grade B and her twin brother Matthew achieved an A*, a Grade A and a Grade B. They will both be going to Lancaster University to study Biology and Maths respectively.
Elliot achieved three Grade As and will now attend Exeter University to study Law with European Studies.
Freya achieved a Distinction and two C Grades and will attend Manchester Met to study Primary Teaching while John achieved two Grade As and a Grade B and will attend Lancaster University to study Mechanical Engineering.
Evelyn achieved two Grade As and a Grade B and attend Manchester University to study Pharmacy while Isabel achieved an A*, a Distinction* and a Grade B and will attend Manchester Met to study Illustration.
Nuala achieved two Grade As and a Grade B and will study Primary Teaching.
David achieved a Distinction in Information Technology and a Merit in Digital Media. He is going to Salford to study Game Design.
