Today, Saturday the 23rd September, saw Tesco Bury host the regional Golden Grants Event.
Customers that came into the Tesco Bury store this afternoon from 12 o’clock were given a chance to try and pick out the golden token and then choose which primary school would receive the £5,000 prize as part of the Tesco Community Grant Scheme.
The three schools which were up for a chance of winning the token were Sunny Bank Primary School, Higher Lane Primary School and Mersey Drive Primary School.
This was a complete shock for Dorothy when she came into the Tesco store this afternoon with her son shopping when she happened to pick out the Golden Token and crown Mersey Drive Primary School as the lucky winner of the £5000 golden grant to fund healthy food and activities to help a children’s group thrive in the local area.
