Prestwich Carnival, a community event and parade, has once again filled the streets and St Mary’s Park despite the challenges it faced due to rising costs.
The event, which took place over the weekend, was a true testament to the resilience and determination of the Prestwich community.
Despite the financial hurdles, the organisers of Prestwich Carnival worked tirelessly to ensure that the event remained free for all to attend. The parade, which was the highlight of the event, saw hundreds of participants line the streets and participate in the parade.
The carnival also featured a variety of food stalls, live music, and funfair rides, which entertained the local community of all ages throughout the day. The event was a great opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of Prestwich.
Speaking about the event, one of the organisers said, "We are thrilled that Prestwich Carnival has once taken place. Despite the challenges we faced this year with the rising costs, we were determined to keep the event going and make it a memorable day for everyone. We couldn't have done it without the support of our community and sponsors."
The success of Prestwich Carnival is a testament to the power of community spirit and the determination of its organisers. It is a great example of how a community can come together to celebrate their unique identity and create a memorable event that everyone can enjoy.
This year saw the event spread over two days, Saturday and Sunday within St Mary's Park, Prestwich.
