Two men have been arrested following a shooting in Rochdale earlier this month. Officers say enquiries are ongoing and patrols have been increased in the area.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the arrests relate to an incident on Beswicke Royds Street on Thursday 5 March.
A 29 year old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
A 19 year old man remains in custody after being arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit wounding, possession of an offensive weapon and affray.
Detective Inspector Matthew Hamer from the Major Incident Team said investigations are continuing and officers believe the shooting was targeted.
He said patrols have been stepped up in the area and officers are continuing to work to establish the full circumstances.
Police have appealed for witnesses and information. Officers are asking anyone who may have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area at the time to come forward.
