On Sunday 29 December 2024, shortly after 8pm, we were called to reports of an assault and robbery on Bury Old Road, Prestwich. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and is believed to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Detective Inspector Andy Wright from Bury CID, said: “We will not tolerate violence on our streets, and we will not stop until we have found those responsible. We understand the concerns people may have following this incident, but we want to reassure our communities that we believe this was a targeted attack and there is no wider threat to the public. “Additional officers are in the area and will be for the coming days, to provide reassurance for local residents. “As officers continue with their enquiries, they are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or have any information, CCTV and vehicle dash cam footage, to contact Bury CID on 07855199574."
