Bury’s Mill Gate Shopping Centre has won a prestigious community award for a second successive year.
Last year the retail centre won gold in the Community Commitment category at the International Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Excellence Awards and they will attend the 2024 ceremony again this summer.
Angela Tierney, centre manager, said: “Receiving the gold award in the Community Commitment category last year was a tremendous honour for us and to have won another award so soon after that one is absolutely incredible. It is a recognition of the efforts of our dedicated team, the partnerships we have formed with local organisations, and the support we receive from the vibrant community of Bury. We take great pride in the work we do here.”
Mill Gate Shopping Centre received recognition in 2023 for its exceptional commitment to prioritising the customers and the local community. It has now been invited to this year’s awards event which rewards organisations that are at the forefront of Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) practices. It will be held at St Paul’s Cathedral in London, on July 1.
The community is always at the heart of Mill Gate’s decision-making process, shaping the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, with businesses contributing positively to the communities they serve.
Mill Gate community-centric initiatives include charitable partnerships, local employment opportunities, supporting local businesses, and providing a safe and inclusive space for everyone. They are driven by the commitment to create a positive impact and leave a lasting legacy in Bury.
