Metrolink services are currently suspended between Bury & Whitefield in both directions due to an 'operational incident'.
Local bus services 97, 98, 135 & 524 are accepting Metrolink tickets and passes.
No timescale has been given as to when services will be back to normal.
A tweet from Manchester Metrolink read: "Due to an operational incident, the Bury line is currently part suspended. Services will run between Victoria and Whitefield.
"Tickets and passes are being accepted on the 97, 98, 135 and 524 bus services.
"Please check back for updates."
