A man has been charged with murder after a 24-year-old was found dead in Bury on New Year's Eve.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that Anthony Junior Murray, born 23 September 2000 and of Tarn Drive, Bury, has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article.
The charges follow an investigation into the death of a man on Wednesday 31 December 2025. Officers were called to an incident in Bury, which resulted in the death of the unnamed 24-year-old victim.
Murray has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court this morning, Friday 2 January 2026.
A woman in her 20s, who was also arrested in connection with the case, has been released on bail while further enquiries are carried out. Police have confirmed the investigation is still ongoing.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have information about the incident to come forward, particularly those who may have CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from the area at the time.
