Former Bury FC midfielder, Len Johnrose has died at the age of 52, following his battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
He was diagnosed with the disease in 2017.
A statement from the Len Johnrose Trust said: "We are heartbroken to tell you that our leader, Len Johnrose passed away this morning.
"Len was an incredibly proud husband and father.
"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time."
He made 188 appearances for the Shakers between 1993 & 1999 and was also known for his time at Blackburn Rovers, Burnley & Hartlepool United.
Len was at Gigg Lane last month for a charity football match, in aid of his charity.
Tributes have been flooding in since the announcement on Monday afternoon.
