There will be a range of community groups, voluntary sector, and faith groups as well as the council to offer advice.
They include: ADAB, Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People, Bolton Bury and Rochdale African Community group, citizens Advice Bury and Bolton, Bury Voluntary Community Faith Alliance, Bury Veterans Hub, Six Town Housing, Bury Adult Learning Centre, Alzheimers Organisation, British Red Cross, Radcliffe Road Baptist Church, The Big Life Group, Bury Library, FGRS Bury (Fishpool, Goshen, Redvales and Springs community hub), The BAME Project, Friends of Clarence Park and Springs Community Project.
Councillor Richard Gold, Cabinet Member for Finance and Communities said: “Our previous showcase was very well attended but it is a sad state of affairs that so many people need help and advice.
“Come along and get help and support about getting work, paying off debts, managing your money and a range of other advice.
“The borough has been allocated just over £3m from the government’s Household Support Fund up to March 2024, to provide emergency support and to tackle longer term issues.
“The showcases are part of this support so we can get out to people and provide the help where it is needed.
“Through our Cost of Living and Anti-Poverty Steering Group, a comprehensive programme of support is available, with the council having also committed more than £350,0000 from our budget to provide support to households who are financially struggling and not eligible for the current council tax support and also to help for children in care and care leavers with cost of living.”
If you are struggling with the cost of living come to the event, go to Bury Council’s website or call 0161 253 5400.
