Ramsbottom United have confirmed Rob Henry as the club’s new manager following the retirement of Steve Wilkes at the end of last season.
The 38 year old steps up after serving as assistant manager during the previous campaign.
Henry joined Ramsbottom United last summer and holds a UEFA A licence.
Before arriving at the club, he worked as assistant manager at Lancaster City, FC United of Manchester and Bootle F.C..
His appointment follows a long non league playing career of more than 450 appearances for clubs including Lancaster City, Chorley F.C., Bamber Bridge F.C. and Kendal Town F.C.. He also made several appearances for Ramsbottom United F.C. in 2018.
Ramsbottom narrowly missed out on promotion through the play offs last season and the club said maintaining continuity following Wilkes’ departure was an important factor ahead of the new campaign.
Henry said: “I’m delighted to be appointed as the new manager of Ramsbottom United F.C. following what has been a whirlwind few days.
“I’m excited for the challenge ahead and to build on the momentum and foundations built last season. There is a real togetherness around the club, which has been evident over the past few days, and I’m looking forward to working closely with the players, staff, supporters and volunteers to continue driving standards forward and helping the team keep progressing.
“My aim is to create an environment where everyone is aligned and working collaboratively towards the same goal – bringing continued success and pride to the football club.”
