Rochdale Mayfield has secured more than £10,000 in funding to invest in its facilities and expand its community activities. The money has been awarded through Rochdale Borough Council’s Township Fund and The Football Foundation.
Rochdale Mayfield has announced that it has secured funding of more than £10,000 to support improvements at the Mayfield Sports Centre and strengthen the club’s work within the local community.
The funding, provided through Rochdale Borough Council’s Township Fund and The Football Foundation, will be used to improve facilities, enhance community programmes and provide a better experience for players, volunteers, members and visitors.
The club said the investment forms part of its long term plans to develop the site while ensuring it remains a welcoming space for people of all ages and abilities.
Speaking to Roch Valley Radio, a spokesperson for Rochdale Mayfield said, “This funding, awarded through Rochdale Borough Council’s Township Fund and The Football Foundation, marks an important milestone for the club. It will enable us to make significant improvements that will benefit our players, volunteers, members, and the wider community for years to come.”
The club said it wants to be recognised for more than its success on the rugby field by creating opportunities for people across the community to take part in sport, keep active and build lasting friendships.
It added that the investment would support the future growth of the Mayfield Sports Centre while helping secure the club’s long term sustainability.
Rochdale Mayfield also thanked everyone involved in supporting the successful application, with particular appreciation given to local councillors for their encouragement throughout the process.
The club said it will provide further updates as the improvement projects progress.
