An 18-year-old man has died, as two people have been arrested on suspicion of driving offences following a collision in Rochdale last night.
The 18-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after the vehicle he was travelling in collided with another vehicle on Manchester Road.
A man in his 20s and a 17-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and associated driving offences including aggravated vehicle taking. They remain in custody for questioning.
Police initially responded to a report of a theft of motor vehicle on William Greenwood Close in Heywood.
While responding, a short pursuit took place after a Toyota Aqua Hybrid failed to stop.
The Toyota then collided with a Volkswagen Up on Manchester Road before coming to a stop.
The driver of the Volkswagen Up did not receive any injuries and remained at the scene to assist officers with their investigations.
GMP have made referrals have been made to it's Professional Standards Directorate and the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
