Primary school children in Bury North are being offered the chance to have their artwork seen across Westminster as local MP James Frith launches his first-ever Christmas card competition.
The winning design will become the official Christmas card for the Labour MP, sent to fellow Members of Parliament, constituents, and key stakeholders Frith has met with during 2025. The competition is open to all primary schools across the constituency, and families are being encouraged to support their children in entering before the deadline of 14 November.
Frith said he hopes the initiative will become a “lasting tradition” that showcases the creativity of local children while spreading festive cheer. “This is the first year I’m running a Christmas Card Competition, and I’m really excited to see the creativity of our local children come to life,” he said. “I hope this becomes a lasting tradition that brings festive cheer and pride to Bury North each year.”
The initiative aims to encourage young people to take part in civic life while celebrating local talent. Schools have been sent entry forms, and scanned entries can also be submitted via email. The chosen card will be unveiled in early December, giving one young artist a national platform for their work.
