Construction has officially started on a new housing development in Castleton that will deliver 302 homes.
Loombrook Meadows, being built by Barratt Homes on Cowm Top Lane, is expected to launch later this year.
Barratt Homes has broken ground on Loombrook Meadows, a new residential development in Castleton that will include a mix of two, three and four bedroom properties.
The development is expected to support around 604 jobs during construction and forms part of the housebuilder’s continued investment across Greater Manchester.
Rhys Nicholson, Managing Director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “This latest development marks an exciting addition to Greater Manchester. Having already seen strong interest from young professionals, first time buyers and growing families, we’re proud to be delivering another welcoming community that people will be proud to call home.
“We encourage anyone interested in the development to register their interest to receive updates on the homes available later this year.”
The site is located on Cowm Top Lane in Castleton and is designed to combine access to local amenities with nearby countryside and green spaces.
Residents will be within easy reach of Healey Dell Nature Reserve, Rochdale town centre, Hollingworth Lake and the Rochdale Canal.
The development also benefits from transport links including Castleton railway station and access to the M62 motorway, providing connections to Manchester, Leeds and other destinations across the North West.
Barratt Homes said properties at Loombrook Meadows are expected to be available to reserve from autumn 2026.
