A woman is receiving hospital treatment after being seriously injured in a collision with a car near Bury town centre.
Emergency services were called to Birch Street, close to Bury ambulance station and off Walmersley Road, at around 1pm today, Friday 24 October.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the woman, who has not been named, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital with what have been described as serious injuries.
The full circumstances of the incident have not been released, and no description of the car involved has been provided at this stage.
A GMP spokesperson said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with police enquiries.
The woman’s current condition and her age have not yet been disclosed. Officers say investigations are ongoing.
The area around Birch Street, just north of Bury town centre, remained open following the incident and no road closures were reported.
