Woman charged with murder after body of 84-year-old man found in Prestwich

Police have charged a woman with murder following the death of an 84-year-old man, whose body was found in Prestwich earlier this year.

Greater Manchester Police said officers were called to an address on Butterstile Lane on March 13th, where they discovered the body of an 84-year-old who was later identified as David Berman.

After a thorough investigation by the force’s Major Incident Team, 70-year-old Daryl Berman, of Butterstile Lane, has been charged with murder.

She remains in custody and is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (June 10th).

Detectives are continuing to appeal for information that could assist their investigation. Anyone with relevant details is urged to call 101 quoting incident number 1771 of 13/03/2025.

Information can also be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
