A 78-year-old woman has died following a collision with a van in a supermarket car park in Oldham.
The incident occurred at around 6.50pm on Thursday 18 December on Greenfield Lane in Shaw, where a Peugeot Expert van struck the woman as she was returning to her vehicle in the Asda car park.
Emergency services were called to the scene, but the woman sustained significant injuries and sadly died as a result of the collision.
Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now leading the inquiry and is appealing for information from the public.
Officers are asking for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward. In particular, they are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the vehicle exiting the car park or has relevant footage from nearby areas around the time of the crash.
