The Oxford Pub in Rochdale raised over £600 for The Gem Appeal during its first cheese and wine garden party of the year on Sunday 6 July
The Oxford Pub kicked off its summer events season with a cheese and wine garden party on Sunday 6 July, raising more than £600 for The Gem Appeal.
The event, held in the pub’s outdoor garden space, featured wine and drinks supplied by local retailer Kwoff, alongside a variety of cheeses and live music. Despite changeable weather, the event saw a strong turnout, with dancing, socialising and contributing to the charity cause throughout the afternoon.
The Gem Appeal supports children with genetic disorders and helps fund treatment and research at the Willink Unit at Manchester Children’s Hospital.
The pub credited Kwoff’s support in helping to “pull such an incredible day out of the bag” and described the event as a success on all fronts.
Those who missed the event will have further opportunities to attend upcoming themed days later in the year:
- Seafood & Champagne Festival – Friday 16 August
- Cheese & Wine Returns – Friday 6 September
- Springhill Hospice Walk – Friday 20 September
All events are scheduled to take place in the garden area, weather permitting.
