Littleborough’s popular Food and Drink Festival returns this Saturday, 14 June, with a full day of food, music and family fun to mark its tenth anniversary. The free event runs from 11am to 4pm across the town centre.
First held as a trial in 2015, this year, more than 20 local traders will set up stalls along Hare Hill Road and Victoria Street, offering everything from street food and sweet treats to drinks and handmade produce.
New names like North Churros and Yoyo Laos Sauce will make their debut, while regulars including Casa Rustica, The Wilde Bakery, Greek Street, Little Badger Cider and The Cheese Counter return.
Alongside the food, there’s a packed lineup of entertainment. Live music comes from the Bloom Community Choir, singer Danny King and the Wardle Junior Blast band. There’ll also be Zumba with Caroline, face painting, children’s crafts, and cookery sessions with Cook Stars Rossendale and Blackburn.
Cooking demonstrations will take place throughout the day, led by Austin Hopley from Pennine Hospitality. A craft fair will be held at The Coach House, and local shops and cafes will be offering special deals and tasters.
The event is organised by the Littleborough Events and Associations Forum (LEAF). The main sponsor this year is The Moorcock pub at Blackstone Edge, with support from Pennine Hospitality, LittleboroughLocal, The Star Tree Studio, Rochdale Borough Council and the Crook Hill Community Benefit Fund.
For safety reasons, Hare Hill Road between Church Street and Greenwood Street)and Victoria Street between Lodge Street and Wellington Street will be closed to traffic from 8am to 6pm on the day. Diversion signs will be in place.
Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
