Comic Con returns to Bury with dinosaurs, dancing stormtroopers and Doctor Who stars in an all day, free family event on Sunday 29 June.
Comic Con is back in Bury this June, promising an action packed takeover of the town centre featuring superheroes, stormtroopers, dinosaurs and comic book creators and entry is completely free.
The event on Sunday 29 June 2025 will transform central Bury into a giant pop culture playground, with themed zones, roaming performers, photo ops and meet and greets spread across key venues including The Rock, Kay Gardens and Bury Art Museum.
Among the headline attractions is a live performance by Boogie Storm, the Britain's Got Talent stormtrooper dance crew, in St John’s Square, while life sized dinosaurs will be thrilling crowds in Kay Gardens. Walking Transformers will also be making surprise appearances around The Rock.
The Star Wars Zone will return with the 5th Legion cosplay crew, known for their movie-quality costumes. Fans of the galaxy far, far away can snap selfies with stormtroopers, rebels and Sith alike.
Film fans can also explore the Movie Vehicles Zone outside Racconto Lounge, with classic cars and iconic characters from the big screen on show.
Meanwhile, Whovians are in for a treat at the Doctor Who Zone in the Fusilier Museum, where Peter Davison, the Fifth Doctor, will be joined by companions Janet Fielding and Sarah Sutton. Actor Clem So, known for his roles in Doctor Who and Marvel’s Doctor Strange, is also set to appear.
Over at Bury Art Museum, the Comic Creator Zone will feature illustrators and writers including UK legend David Leach, as well as international talent from Angoulême, Bury’s French twin town famed for comic art.
One of the highlights is the Cosplay Competition, held at The Met, where fans of all ages can showcase their costume creations. Entry is free but advance registration is required at discoverbury.co.uk
Organised by Bury BID, the Business Improvement District, the town wide event is fully walkable with a downloadable trail map and schedule available online.
