Fundraising campaign honours lost loved ones while boosting hospice care in Rochdale, Middleton and Heywood
Springhill Hospice has announced the results of its 2025 Sunflower Appeal, raising an impressive £13,813.03 in donations from the public.
The appeal, which invites the community to dedicate sunflowers in memory of loved ones, saw a strong response this year. Hundreds of blooms were displayed at the hospice, creating a tribute and peaceful space for reflection.
Rachel Cutler, Supporter Engagement Fundraiser at Springhill Hospice, expressed her gratitude for the local support:
"Thank you so much for all the support we have received for our sunflower appeal. It was amazing to see the beautiful sunflowers all displayed together at the Hospice. It was an opportunity to stop and remember the loved ones we have lost. All donations towards this appeal will help our amazing hospice staff to keep on providing outstanding support to the Rochdale, Middleton and Heywood areas."
The funds raised will help Springhill Hospice continue delivering specialist palliative care and emotional support to patients and families across the borough.
Sunflowers that were ordered can still be collected from either Springhill Hospice or the Springhill Hub. Anyone with queries regarding collections is advised to contact the Fundraising Team on 01706 641790.
