An inquest has been opened following the death of a six-year-old girl who was involved in a collision with a vehicle in Rochdale.
She was taken to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital with serious injuries but sadly died a short time later.
Rochdale Coroner’s Court heard on Thursday that Myra was formally identified and that a provisional cause of death had been established, relating to injuries sustained in the collision.
Myra, who was born in Oldham, was the daughter of Mohammed Tahseen and Riffat Sultana. The family is understood to live in the area with her siblings. A funeral service for her took place in Rochdale on 1 May.
The driver involved remained at the scene and has been cooperating with the police. Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is continuing its enquiries.
Detective Constable Thomas Johnson appealed for information from the public, saying officers would particularly like to hear from anyone with relevant CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident.
No date has been set for the full inquest hearing.
