A FESTIVE land train has returned to The Rock Shopping Centre for the Christmas period.
The Rock Express launched on Monday 11th December and will be transporting passengers between the shopping centre and Bury Parish Church and back daily until 23rd December.
This year The Rock is asking passengers to dig deep and help raise funds for its charity partner Liv’s Trust CIO.
The charity was set up in the memory of 15-year-old Olivia Campbell Hardy who was killed in the Manchester Arena bombing.
Olivia was a talented ballroom and Latin dancer and singer who wanted to teach. The charity is her living legacy. It provides help for young people in higher education in performing arts, music and dance.
The cause was chosen as The Rock’s partner charity via a public vote in the summer.
Passengers can board the train near Costa Coffee in St John’s Square. On Saturday 16th and 23rd December Santa will be riding the train between 11am and 4pm. Santa will take a 30 minute break at 2pm.
Arnold Wilcox-Wood, Centre Director of The Rock, said: “The return of The Rock Express Land Train really signifies the start of Christmas for many of our visitors and we’re thrilled to see so many happy families riding the train. We hope we can raise a great amount for Liv’s Trust. We encourage our visitors to please help support this worthy cause.”
