Several residents on a street in Rochdale were celebrating last week after each scooped a £1,000 prize in the People's Postcode Lottery.
The lucky winners live in the OL16 5AN postcode, Newbold Street (just opposite Kingsway Retail Park), which was drawn in the lottery’s daily prize draw on Friday, 2 May. Every ticket holder in that postcode received the £1,000 cash prize.
The People's Postcode Lottery is drawn daily by selecting postcodes at random, rewarding ticket holders in the selected area with cash prizes.
More than £1.1billion has been raised through the scheme for charities and community projects across the UK. At least 33 per cent of every ticket sold goes to good causes, supporting a wide range of organisations.
The lottery operates draws on behalf of 20 different charities, each of which holds its own dedicated draw once a month.
The game continues to grow in popularity, with its daily and monthly prizes changing lives across the country and providing crucial funding for charitable work.
Residents in the OL16 area who took part in the draw are now among the thousands of winners the lottery has created since its launch.
