A local dance school is celebrating major success after students took home championship trophies at the Endeavour Championships in Boston, Lincolnshire.
Students from Fabdance Centre, based on Rooley Moor Road in Rochdale, competed against dance schools from across England, Scotland and Wales, bringing home a series of first place titles.
The freestyle duo of Evie Law and Bronwyn Walker were crowned champions in their pairs event, while the school’s freestyle team, performing under the name ‘The Unknown’ also won their section.
Each student from Fabdance who competed in the championships came home with at least one trophy, marking a clean sweep for the school.
Fiona Briddon, school principal and owner of Fabdance Centre, said: “I have always been proud of all our students from the studio, but never in a million years did we expect these results.”
Briddon added that the team held a number of fundraising events to help cover costs of the trip, with local businesses donating prizes to support their efforts.
“We are always on the lookout for new kids to join our award-winning ‘compsquad’,” she said.
The school’s performance at the event not only highlights the level of talent in Rochdale but also the strong community spirit backing youth activities in the area.
